Pythagoras’ Theorem

Finding the length of the hypotenuse

Pythagoras’ Theorem lets us find the length of the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle.

The theorem says that “the sum of the squares of the two shorter sides is equal to the sum of the third side”.

In algebra: a² + b² = c²

We can then say that c is the square root of a² + b².
